I am interested in becoming a licensed child care provider and/or nursery school director. I am currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program at Southern Maine Community College, however I know that a degree is NOT required to start your own center. I have recieved some paperwork in the mail, however would like to hear from anyone that has gone this route (meaning getting a license without a degree) and how its been, what the process is, and so on. Any information would be extremly helpful!
Alyss K, I've got a daughter at a Wisconsin child care center. I couldn't be happier, but I visited a lot of centers to be sure I was satisfied with the center and staff. I vistited many Wisconsin centers I was able to inquire about thier programs. Try visiting local Maine child care centers and see if they can help. http://www.localchildcarecenters.com/Maine.html

Maine http://homebizseo.com/50states/Maine.html You may want to have an after school care also for school age children.
